iPhone app to transcribe your name into Rovas

Wednesday, April 11, 2012

Have you heard of the Székely-magyar Rovás? It is an ancient writing method and was widely practiced by Hungarians way before the Latin alphabet was officially adopted. Interested? Wanna see your name written in it?

altThis app lets you visualize an arbitrary name in its rovás form. Unfortunately, to do that, you will need to speak Hungarian as the transcription is based on the pronunciation of the Hungarian script. 😛

Anyway. Once you got the name right, you can personalize the result with the 20 high-resolution wallpapers bundled with the app, or with your own photos.

The composition can then be saved to the photo album or directly shared via Facebook or Twitter (Twitter requires iOS 5.0 or higher).

To download the application go here!!!
